How to beat the mince pies!

Well, I have finished work for now (apart from lots of admin but there is always lots of admin!), children are at home and am trying to get straight for Christmas but there are mince pies about!  Have you noticed that the mince pies, tins of chocolates, baileys, etc, come out earlier and earlier!!  So, instead of worrying about putting weight on from over-indulging on Christmas day and New years eve, I already have put weight on from extra treats (such as mince pies!!) consumed over the last fortnight! Never mind, I have a plan! (oh, and the mince pies have gone in the freezer so I can't nibble till Christmas!)

This is what I am doing to combat the mince pies -

Today - 2 mile run plus resistance session
Thursday - 3 mile run
Friday - 20 minute interval run plus resistance session
Saturday - 4 mile run
Sunday - REST (as its Christmas day)

Repeat following week

Resistance session
12 pushups
12 squat press (with 2kg medecine ball)
12 oblique crunch
12 lunges
20 sec plank
12 upright row (with 2kg dumbells)
12 medecine ball rotations
12 sumo squats
12 tricep dips
20 sec side plank
stretch

The exercise sessions take about 30 to 40 minutes so can be squeezed into a busy day.  Work something out that suits you and write it down - be consistent and persistent and you shouldn't pile on too many pounds!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
