Challenge number 1: wear a bikini by the summer (9 weeks)
As I tell my clients all the time - set a goal. It is easier to achieve something if you have a goal to work to, then you can make a plan, then you can start working towards your goal. Make your goal SMART (specific, measureable, achievable, realistic and time-specific) - or something like that!
Hence, above goal. I have wafted about now for five months basking in the fact that I have lost 4.5 stones since September 2009 (when third and final child was born) and fit into my clothes and feel fit and pretty good about myself. But still wouldn't put a bikini on - not in public anyway.
As a pilates teacher, personal trainer, children's fitness instructor, weight management advisor, mother, etc, etc, - I do feel I should practice what I preach. So, last little bit of weight off - no excuses! and a toned tummy to expose come the glorious summer (!). - people keep telling me it can't be done after having three kids but I think it can, gonna give it a go anyway.
1. assess starting point - weight to lose, probably about 7-10lb's - difficult to judge as want to lose fat not muscle, tummy underneath fat pretty strong but more work will only improve
2.
write plan - cv work to lose fat, mix of high intensity and endurance, pilates for core strength, resistance work for overall toning and weight loss
3.
watch diet - diet okay, watch extra treats don't start creeping in and ensure enough carbs consumed to be able to exercise at optimum.
3.
do it! - find the time, 30 minutes to 60 minutes four to six days per week ought to do it.
